SWAYAM EDC JJCET is an organisation of Entrepreneurship Development Cell of J.J. College of Engineering & Technology, Trichy.

The  Entrepreneurship  Development  Cell (EDC)  was started  with  the  object  of  promoting specialized knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship development.



Ever since its inception, the cell has embarked on its flagship programme of continuous innovative thinking in order to enhance the country’s economy.



Battling against odds appears to have become something of a habit for the unemployed youth.  The EDC tries to extricate these youngsters from their wrangle with employment opportunities by crowning them as young and dynamic entrepreneurs.  These dynamic youngsters evolve from the corporate shadows and reach an enviable position.



Technology and globalization are ushering an era of unprecedented change. Perhaps there is no mantra as strong as today, as one about the need and pressure for change and Innovation. Business and nations have to respond innovatively to these developments to continue their growth. As the need for emerging technology of  today’s world, JJCET has incorporated an Entrepreneurship Development Cell for the budding Entrepreneurs.



​In view of the worldwide  shortage  of  jobs  (both  government  and private sectors)  leading to  unemployment  problems and lack of proper utilization of human resources; the cell strives to identify talented youth to  entrepreneurial works. The  cell plans  to  organise  various  programmes regarding  entrepreneurship development.



The EDC redefines the role of the youth to make them more independent. The youngsters are thus shaken out of their complacent mood regarding their employment opportunities. Such entrepreneurs become icons of success with the help of the prospective tool called innovation.  They also cater to the ever growing employment needs of the society.  Leaving no stone unturned in their innovative and constructive pathway, they prove to be the heartbeat of a nation’s progress and prosperity.  Thus, the EDC empowers the youth with entrepreneurial skills.
